The Power of Forgiveness in Ferguson, Missouri
When someone hurts we all hurt in some form or another. A Course in Miracles teaches us that “Only Love Is Real”. It also says that there are only two emotions, Love and Fear…Love is moving towards GOD, Fear is moving away from GOD.
Regardless of what your religious beliefs may be we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. That experience is felt by us all. If you are angry that is the emotion of fear. Fear that what has happened to you or someone else may be unjust, or fear that your feelings are not being considered or heard. Those feelings of fear take over your ability to love.
A Course in Miracles also says that “Love casts out all darkness” and that the return to love will remove all doubt and fear. Unfortunately, fear is familiar and for many encoded in their DNA, yet the Course says, “There is nothing greater than when an ancient hatred becomes a present love.”
Does that mean that the unjustness is acceptable? No! It simply means that one unjust act cannot be remedied by another.
As the world watches and judges the actions in Ferguson, Missouri some believe the actions were just, some think they weren’t…
Regardless of how you may feel, this is an opportunity to return to love.
We live in a world of cause and effect! This is the law of attraction. Scripture says, ask and it will be given to you, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door will be open to you...A true understanding of this lesson is that this applies to the good, the bad, and the ugly! What you put out you will indeed get back!
Jesus was a spiritually radical Jew, a peaceful warrior moving through his community sharing the power of love and the importance of peace. He stood up for justice, through the power of peace and love. Jesus said “Love God and Love One Another.”
The very love that Jesus advocated ultimately cost him his life, however, the Course says, focus on the resurrection and not the crucifixion! That there could have been no resurrection had there not been a crucifixion! In other words dying to the old beliefs and being born again to the new! Crucifying the hate, and resurrecting the Love.
As hard as it may be to find some rational explanation of why there is so much anger and hatred in the world today, YOU must be the peace and love the world needs.
For those inside and outside of Ferguson, Missouri it is important to be the light in the midst of darkness.
Jesus last words was “Father forgive them, for they no not what they do.” This should be the mantra for peace, Father forgive them!
For those inside Ferguson, be the peace, for those outside of Ferguson, stand in peace!
